New directions for parents of persons with retardation or other disabilities. This book is wonderfully illustrated with hand drawings by the author's wife. A Parent's Guide to Down Syndrome -- "Toward a Brighter Future". Pueschel. (1990). An excellent book with chapters by several professionals. Special Angel -- "An Introduction to Down Syndrome. Nolen. (1991). A good, small book for new parents with great photos. Paint the Octopus Red. (1998). A wonderful picture book explaining to a young sibling that "Down syndrome" doesn't mean the new baby won't be able to do all the things hoped for. |
